We focus on improving learning outcomes for all children by inspiring teacher motivation.

Watch how we work.

Our model uses peer networks to motivate and support teachers in government education systems at large scale. Through our monthly meetings, teachers see that their decisions matter. They see themselves improving, they feel connected to their peers, and they feel accountable to the children that they teach. Those who engage with our programme experience a transformative change in how they feel about their jobs. Classrooms brim with possibility, so that every child’s potential can be unleashed, and their aspirations realised, to develop a lasting love of learning.

The learning improvement cycle

Our approach is based around three core activities of peer networks, action and feedback, and reflection. Every teacher engages in these activities in our termly learning improvement cycles (LICs). Each LIC focuses on a different theme, for example the science of learning.

The heart of our approach has always been the teacher network meeting. In this community of practice, groups of 20-30 teachers meet monthly within a school or across a small number of local schools. In the meetings, teachers learn new practices to enable higher quality interactions with their children. And between meetings, teachers receive coaching and support to enable high-quality feedback. The networks strengthen peer connections, fostering mutual support and sustainable improvement. At our current scale, we’re now operating more than 5,000 network meetings every month.

Our Theory of Change

Building government ownership

In our programme, every activity is delivered through government systems. This helps us to achieve scale sustainably, and ensures that we reach every child. Every teacher network is run by a school leader or local government official. These leaders also receive coaching and support from others in the system. Regular alignment meetings at district and state levels provide a chance for all stakeholders to analyse data. They share their learning and make plans together to improve delivery.

We co-design each programme with our government partners. We build an understanding of local needs and shape our activities to address them. We also ensure strong alignment with their existing policies and priorities.

Our team also supports governments to deliver each activity. We build their ownership so that each programme can eventually be delivered independently. Ultimately, we aim to show that our approach can increase the impact of a government’s investment in education. Over time, we step back our own involvement with governments increasing their contribution to the costs of delivery.
